High quality family law advice when you need it

Family Law includes all consequences of a breakdown of any relationship in the nature of a marriage, including civil unions. It may be quite simply figuring out the physical separation - who will stay and who will go.

The division of property - including your interest in a business, company, trust, or a spouse's future superannuation. The care of children - whether it is day-to-day care or contact with them. Where there has been violence, or allegations of it, we can assist you to get protection if you are the victim, or assist you counter allegations that you are a perpetrator of violence.

Tania Davis Law can help you resolve disputes regarding important child related issues, such as where a child will go to school, what name a child is known by, or whether a child is immunised. These are known as guardianship issues.

If you have a family member or friend who lacks, or partially lacks, mental competence then we can assist you.

We can advise whether it is possible to obtain Orders for an independent person to make welfare decisions or to manage the finances and property on the incapacitated person’s behalf. Assistance for such people is provided for under the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act, which we commonly refer to as “triple P R matters”

Tania Davis Law considers a fundamental role of a lawyer is to inform and empower their client. We therefore explain the law, your options, and also the processes of reaching resolution, including Court procedure.

We strongly believe that everyone has the right to be heard, have their opinions valued, and to be treated with respect. We are passionate about ensuring all our clients receive quality representation regardless of their income, politics, beliefs or financial worth.

Our role is to advocate for you. It is therefore essential to have fully heard you, to know what you want in the short and long term, understand your preferred approach for dispute resolution, and to have a good appreciation of your values and beliefs.

Our role is to provide top quality, robust advice, and to strongly advocate for you without judgment.

"I have been super impressed by Tania and her team.

Tania herself is 'down to earth', very approachable and a committed professional. I feel listened to by Tania and she always gives me time to express my concerns and ask niggling questions. Tania's patience is complimented by her ability to concisely summarise and provide sound, unbiased advice.

Within the courtroom environment Tania is fully supportive and I felt she represented me with legal vigor.

Tania's personal assistant was also professional, efficient, and always welcoming with a friendly smile.

I have already recommended Tania and her firm to other friends and will continue to do so in the future."

In addition to her law degree Kathryn has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science.

Prior to her legal career Kathryn worked in a fast paced political environment where her intellectual acuity was essential, valued and respected.

Kathryn has always been passionate about empowering and advocating for others.

Her in-depth understanding of politics made her acutely aware of the varying dynamics within our society. It was therefore a natural progression for Kathryn to study law and to use her skills to assist, empower, and advocate for those needing representation within the legal system.

Kathryn finds it satisfying knowing that she can provide support and advice to others enabling them to make informed decisions during a stressful time, and within an environment that is often foreign to them.

Historically, Kathryn has practiced solely in family law, although more recently she has added criminal law to her bow.
